Ashville Gains the Top Spot
GCSE and A Level League tables were published this week showing an excellent set of results for Ashville college at both A-level and GCSE.
The Telegraph placed Ashville 3rd in the North of England and 73rd in the Country for the quality of its GCSE results. These were the best of any school in North Yorkshire performing ahead of all independent and state schools, whether selective or not, in the region.
The government league tables, which take into account average results and the fact that all students received five GCSEs at grade A* -C, placed Ashville first in North Yorkshire.

A Great Start for Rugby 1st XV
The Winter term has seen the 1st XV rugby get off to one of their best starts for many a season with 9 wins out of 13 games played so far, including pleasing wins over Pocklington, Leeds GSAL, Silcoates and Mount St. Marys’ and to date progressing to the fifth round in the national Daily Mail Vase competition.
The team play with a strong team ethic, are constantly striving to improve and have been well led by Ali Renshaw and Johnny Barrett and it is this formula that has contributed to their success so far. It also helps that the squad possesses players who have several seasons of experience at first team level, with Sam Rutter recently passing the 50 caps for the 1st XV and Ollie Mitchell closing in on that same figure. While Tom Papworth ,a stalwart of a dynamic back row, has found success at representative level, having been selected for Yorkshire at U17 level.
